But this was weird…

30 Jun

So, I know I got a little mushy about the American Girl doll store.

But let’s not overlook the freak factor, m’kay?

It is very weird to have serious hairstylists working on a whole row of dolls.

It is even weirder that in the pink-tiled bathrooms, every stall has a silver star with hooks on the wall.

This is not a purse holder.

It’s a DOLL holder.

Well, at least they didn’t have little doll potties.

Oh, wait.

Apparently you can purchase that separately.

I love that a post about American Girl dolls is in the WTF category. Hahaha!

And seriously? Doll hooks? Couldn’t they come up with anything better than that? Maybe little seats that you strap them in or something?

Ya know? Maybe not. I think next time I’m in a public bathroom with the baby I’m gonna try hanging him on the purse hook. It could work…

I love the combined feel of these two posts! I imagine this is in my future. My 5yo is unaware of the AGs, but I know there will come a day. I love having a preview to help me be prepared. I know that I need to go with a friend who has a good sense of humor, but who appreciates to some degree the “girl and her doll” bond. It seems preposterous, but we do also flock to Florida to wear mouse ears and get our pictures taken with people dressed as large furry animals. There is a truly gross aspect to the whole thing, but there is also genius. Gross genius. ha. so if I can keep cool and make my way to Dallas for the fiasco, I will treat it a bit like if I were visiting a Creationist Museum. I’ll giggle, then I’ll walk around with my jaw dropped, then I’ll see someone I went to high school with and bond. And I’ll leave singing It’s a Small World After All. Thank you for these great posts. And I love that Julie came home with you offering M the sweet love that only a girl’s doll can. 🙂
