If the Shoe Fits…

23 Jul

In my 20s, I used to enter 100-mile bike rides for fun. And would get up early, take a shower, do my hair, and then put on some lipgloss to match my jersey before packing the bike on the back of the Bronco and heading to the ride start. True story.

This morning, I agreed to meet a friend at the gym at 6 for some elliptical time. It’s 5 minutes from the house, so I set the alarm for 5:50. Got dressed in the dark, drove down the street, and headed in to the gym.

And then I looked down.

Shoes

Awesome.

Umm — don’t know if you noticed but your shoes don’t match.

LOVE this!!! So the question is….did you turn back home to wear matching shoes or just ignore it??

  9. lettergirl July 23, 2009 at 9:37 am #

Molli, I worked out and then took a picture for the Internet. Because I have no shame, apparently.

At least you didn’t show up at work that way…last winter, I came to the office with one navy shoe and one black one. Smooth move, huh?

The universe is gently telling you that no one should ever wake up at that ungodly hour.

A few years back, I bought a pair of shoes in black that I loved so much I also bought them in brown. Don’t even ASK how many times I went to work with one brown and one black shoe! So yeah, it happens. LOL – love it!

    Here, here, Ruth!!

If God wanted humanity to see the sunrise, he would have scheduled it later in the day.

How sublime! I did the same thing last month… but it took a colleague at work to point it out.

The important thing is that you remembered to wear pants.

I never would have thought of a way to make that kind of incident into a hilarious blog entry.

I know this is an old post, but this is kind of like what I did.
I was woken up for Black Friday (this year) by my step mom. I got dressed, and got my socks on. We were in a hurry, so I just grabbed my shoes from under the bed and went into the garage, and into the car. We stop at circle K, and I only have one shoe on, but no matter, the clerks there have seen far stranger. We drive for about 15 minutes, and I’m having issues with my shoes. Huh. I look at them, and of course I grabbed two left shoes. Still shopped though.
I’m not that good of a dancer, why do you ask?
    😀
